On Monday 21st February at The Smugglers’ Inn St. Erth Praze; the High Sheriff of Cornwall Mark Thomas presented Edward Richardson of Farm Cornwall, also the retiring secretary of the West Cornwall Grassland Society and board member of the Penwith Landscape Partnership, with ‘A High Sheriff’s Award’. The award was given in recognition of ‘great and valuable services to the community.’ A good number of members of the West Cornwall Grassland Society were present to see Edward receive the award and enjoy a pasty supper. There was also a presentation on Genomics given by Simon Hancock and Robert Burlton of Genus ABS.
On his award, Edward said, “It was a great honour to receive this award from the High Sheriff, for the work I have carried out over the past 12 years within the agricultural community in Cornwall”.
