A Year of Cornish Hedge artistic commission
We're thrilled that artists Amanda Richardson and Sara Bevan were commissioned to create a series of artworks recording a year in a Cornish Hedge for us. Along the way they shared updates on both our blog and our social media channels. Their first blog in November 2021 introducing them and their work can be read by clicking here. A further blog on their work from August 2022 can be found here. The complete artworks by both artists were displayed at our Seeing the Landscape: Perspectives of Penwith exhibition in August 2022. A massive thank you to both Amanda and Sara for sharing their hard work and creativity with us!
Penwith Hedges Photography Competition 2021
One of the aims of the Penwith Landscape Partnership is to help record and celebrate the wonderful Cornish Hedges found in Penwith. As such for Hedge Week we launched our Penwith Hedges Photography Competition, as we wanted to see your images that capture the beauty and wonder of our Cornish hedges. These images will help us create an artistic record of Penwith’s hedges for future generations.
We are pleased to announce that the winner was the stunning image to the right, taken by Jenny Hollow - congratulations Jenny! The standard of entries was very high, and as such our judges awarded first, second and third places in the contest, and three additional places for highly commended entries. You can see all the top entries in our winners gallery - click the link below to view this. We hope you love them as much as we do.
